We are delighted to introduce sixteen new Professional Artist Members of the Society of Scottish Artists.

Professional Members are artists who are actively practising professionally within one or more branches of the visual arts and are selected in recognition of their talent and dedication in this field. 

These artists represent a broad range of styles, and their work reflects the variety and vibrancy that can be found across the SSA membership – professional, ordinary and student.

I will be with Creativity and Curiosity presenting a paper and a virtual exhibition to Conference in Santiago do Compostela in Spain 18th - 22nd Sept 17 https://www.roadtothestars.org

Scientific Rationale:
Astronomy as part of the culture and society has a clear social character that needs to be studied. Cultural Astronomy attempts to do so by exploring the way in which different societies across history and in present times deal with the issues where the sky is involved.

Creativity and Curiosity will form part of Dundee Science Centre’s Outreach programme in Oct 17, looking to break down barriers to the arts and sciences.

Creativity and Curiosity are exhibiting in London 8th - 16th November 17.An exhibition to showcase artworks created for Imperial College’s I, Science magazines 2016/17. Taking a unique approach to sourcing images,I Science Pictures Editor, Natasha Gertler, commissioned contemporary artists to create original content for every article. Through exploring the interdisciplinary terrain between art and science, Natasha hopes to bring a new dimension to the topics discussed.
